Today is the last day for our internship and we had good time at Sagal Radio, but i can't believe today is the last day! we are just working on our blogs and recording some videos about safety. we have worked on a lot of stuff while we are at Sagal radio, we have interviewed few people and went to story corps in Atlanta. we took some pictures at PBS and it was fun. I will miss all the interns at Sagal Radio, we had fun together.
Olaaa!!!! what's up everyone? its 4th of july, any plans for the day? well, we are just working for 3 hours today and we are about to be heading home pretty soon cause we only got few minutes left!!! my plans for 4th of july is to go to downtown and see fireworks with friends inshallah and hopefully everyone will have a good time. well, that's it for today n happy independence day America! lol
Hello everyone, My name is Makiya and I'm an intern at Sagal Radio. Today, we basically interviewed each other and we get to know about each other more. We talked about ourselves and our past experiences when we came to the United States. We all had very similar situations except that we all speak different languages and we are also from different backgrounds. The first day when we interviewed each other, it wasn't as easy as today because we are getting used to talking to each other and hearing our own voices even though it sounds very weird. During this internship, I'm looking forward to having fun and hopefully a better speaker which will also help me for my future like presentation. That's all i got for todaaaaay!!!!!!

Some challenges i had when i came to the United States was learning English and getting used to new culture and people of different backgrounds.I knew coming to a different country and learning new things, such as language, culture, and meeting people that is so different from me in every way is difficult, but i knew i have to be strong and outgoing to get along with other people who doesn't know who i am really. Other than my past experiences, my plan is to prepare myself for college and pursue my career in nursing. The reason why i chose nursing as my future career is to help others and make a positive impact on their lives. I love helping people, especially immigrants who are new to the United States and have no idea what to do because everything is so new to them and they just need help.
